The steps for this task are the same when using Global Extensibility () with the exception of accessing the Configuration mode.
Many users find it helpful and timesaving to configure a pre-set static default value for the fields in which they frequently enter the same specific value. The user may set default to automatically fill a field every time the screen is accessed to save time.
Caution should be used to ensure that a static (i.e., constant) default value is not placed in a field that requires a unique entry, such as Number or Code fields that must contain unique entries
Click on the [User Extensibility] button for the field to receive the default value
Select Set Default … option
Enter the exact value for which the field should default when the Default: window appears and click the [OK] button.
The result is the field will always initially pre-fill with the default value upon entry to the screen.
The initial default however may be changed by simply over typing the default value.
