Description

Tabbing

Enable Expert User Tabbing

By selecting this option, the tab stops are rearranged so that the input fields are first. If Expert User is not selected, then the tab traversal order results in stopping on each actionable element of the page in the order in which it resides on the page. When Expert User is selected, all input elements are in one group with other actionable elements coming later in the order.

Enable Auto Tabbing

By selecting this option, the system automatically tabs to the next field when the maximum field length is reached.

Start at Top of Page

Select to place keyboard focus at the beginning of the page when navigating to each page in the system rather than focus being placed on the page's unique content automatically (default). The "Skip to main content" link can be used to quickly move focus to the unique content on the page.

Menu

  Avatar

Selects the default menu icon/image.

Side Navigation

Select to enable the display of menu options on the side of the screen.

Sections

Enable Section Links

When this option is selected, the system displays a "Jump to Section" field at the top of pages with sections. Next to that field is a drop-down menu with each section listed. This option may be useful for those users who navigate exclusively via keyboard.

Expand Document Sections

Select this option to automatically  expand all document sections.

Auto-Complete

Enable Auto-complete

This option, allows the user to enable or disable auto-complete features on all references across the system.

Valid values are:

  • Enabled – auto-complete functionality is enabled system-wide for this user.  All reference backed fields will attempt to suggest an auto-complete option after the user has entered a few characters into the field and typing has paused for a user configured delay.

  • Disabled – auto-complete functionality is disabled system-wide for this user.

  • User Initiated With this option selected, the system will not automatically attempt to suggest values for auto-complete fields as the user is typing.  Values will only be suggested when the user initiates a request for suggestions by pressed the down arrow key in any reference backed field.  Pressing the down arrow key will cause the system to suggest a value based on the value(s) currently entered in the field.  This option is useful for power users that know the majority of the codes that they will enter but still want the flexibility to search for values occasionally using the auto-complete functionality.

Auto-complete Delay

The auto-complete delay is only applicable when the “Enabled” option is selected. The options for the delay are “No Delay”, “Short Delay” – about half a second, “Medium Delay” – about a second  (defaults to this delay), “Long Delay” – about a second and a half, and “Very Long Delay” – about 2 seconds.  Users should configure the delay to match their typing speed.  A longer delay is used to prevent suggestions from appearing too quickly.

When set to true, the Tooltips information will be updated.

User Time Zone

Current System Inferred Time Zone

The time zone that the system has inferred for the user based on their current operating system time zone properties. The user will not be able to edit this field. For more information about how the system infers this zone, see the topic Current System Inferred Time Zone.

Bookmarks:  The Bookmarks tab allows the user to prioritize “bookmarks” or quickly accessed links to frequently used pages in VSS.

Bookmarks can be added while utilizing the VSS system for everyday tasks. On any maintenance table search screen, query search screen, or new form screen, there is a blue book next to the bread crumb.  When this is clicked, it adds the screen to the Bookmarks tab. For example, if a user frequently uses the Vendor Information Query screen, the page can be set as a bookmark for easy access.

A Bookmarks menu is added to the Menu bar when the first bookmark is saved.

Field

Description

Bookmarks Label

Users can assign a name or Label of their choosing to the actual  Bookmark

Rank

Users can assign a Rank (i.e. numerical value) to each bookmark so it will display in numerical order on the Bookmarks menu.
