A site may specify that a solicitation is an auction. Summary information about responses submitted against an auction solicitation is displayed publicly on the web site. This allows vendors to create a response on the solicitation as well as view responses that have been made on the solicitation by other vendors. While the identity of the vendors remains anonymous, the auction module displays the general auction information, the grand total bid offered by each vendor, and the line item bids offered by each vendor. Additionally, vendors can receive email notifications regarding auction responses. Vendors may create, edit, and withdraw responses for auction solicitations until the auction is closed, which is defined on the solicitation.
